Emirates Hospital Promotes Mental Health Through Doodle Art Therapy

Emirates Hospital Clinics has successfully concluded a unique initiative to promote mental health awareness. The hospital collaborated with renowned international doodle artists, Sijin Gopinathan and Kavya Abhiram , to offer doodle art therapy to healthcare professionals.

On October 10th, World Mental Health Day, a creative session was held at Dubai World Trade Center. Five doctors, including Dr. Hasini Perera and Dr. Arun Sharma, as well as 16 nurses and health workers, participated in the therapeutic doodling session. The artists guided participants through the process, helping them to reduce anxiety and improve their mood.

Doodle art therapy has been shown to have numerous benefits for mental health, including:

Reducing stress and anxiety: The act of doodling can help individuals to relax and focus on the present moment, reducing feelings of stress and anxiety.
Improving mood: Engaging in creative activities can boost mood and increase feelings of happiness and satisfaction.
Enhancing self-expression: Doodling provides a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to express their thoughts and emotions.
Improving cognitive function: Studies have shown that engaging in creative activities can improve cognitive function, including memory and problem-solving skills.

By offering doodle art therapy sessions, Emirates Hospital Clinics is demonstrating its commitment to the well-being of its staff. The hospital hopes that this initiative will inspire others to prioritize their mental health and explore the benefits of creative expression.

As the UAE continues to focus on mental health awareness, initiatives like these play a crucial role in creating a more supportive and understanding culture. By highlighting the importance of self-care and creative outlets, Emirates Hospital Clinics is leading the way in promoting mental well-being for all.
